‘DRONA-MPV” can survive up to 24kg of explosive

New Delhi, February 18, 2010: Shri Lakshmi Defense Solution Limited (SLDS), a wholly owned subsidiary company of Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn Limted, has unveiled a new range of Hi-Tech defense vehicles that include “DRONA” a Mine blast protected vehicle and “VIPER” a fast moving attacking vehicle for enhancing combat efficiency of defense forces engaged in counter insurgency and anti-Naxal operations of Indian armed and paramilitary forces, SLDS has introduced an exclusive range of indigenously designed models based on modern technology which has capacity to survive up to 24kg of explosive.

These special Hi-Tech vehicles are currently being showcased at the largest defense expo 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New Delh. The other high safety technical textile products on display include high altitude fabric, bullet-proof jackets, bullet proof helmets Anti-ballistic Products, Lightest hard Armour plates etc.

Mr Anil Kumar Verma, Director, Shri Lakshmi Defense Solutions Limited said “We have designed these vehicles keeping in mind the high –tech security requirements of defense forces. Our vehicles are suitably equipped to aid security forces for the counter insurgency and anti-Naxal operations and are extremely useful for enhancing combat efficiently against devises like mine and bomb blasts. Our armoured vehicles even with a heavy pay-load capacity can smoothly run at speed exceeding 165 kmp on any terrain. The side walls including belly are made of blast protective materials including steel, which provide excellent all round protection against heavy blasts”

In order to have a perfect combination of power with load, we import chassis from reputed international firms like Ford Motor and General Motors and then fabricate indigenously at our plant at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh with our in-house technical expertise. ” Mr Verma added.

“DRONA” a perfect mine protection vehicle, is based on creating the maximum distance and protection between the seat of a cabin and mine explosion. The front fenders and the hood are attached to the chassis to reduce the shock against blast, transmitted to the cabin. The front wheel base, are located forward of the crew cabin and when selected, a 'V' shape-armoring cell protects the rear wheels, so that if a mine detonates under the wheel, the burst of explosion is diverted outwards, thus minimizing the damage to the crew cabin.

“VIPER”, the fast moving attacking armored vehicle, has four side doors, a single rear luggage door, rotating turret & cross-country run flat tyre, a pick up van style for additional and heavy artillery payload. This vehicle carries a total crew complement of six and is armored to exceed the European B7+ armor. Now company’s defence solutions are the preferred choice of all paramilitary and defence forces.
